SMEX Site Visit Hosts
Contained in the SMEX site visit rules, which I sent you on January 2, 2002:
"The study team should provide NASA no later than February 1 with contact information for a specific individual who will be "site visit host" for purposes of logistical questions."
Only two missions have identified the "site visit host." Please send the information to me (phertz@hq.nasa.gov), to Carlos Liceaga (C.A.Liceaga@larc.nasa.gov), and to John Iacobucci (j.a.iacobucci@larc.nasa.gov) immediately.
SMEX Site Visit Q&A
QUESTION: Is a break at times during the 6 hour presentation counted against the 6 hours? Can we include breaks and perhaps cut the tour portion somewhat?
ANSWER: Yes, breaks count against the 6 hours. Only lunch and the evaluation team meeting do not count against the 6 hour limit. You may not trade breaks against the tour time.
SMEX Site Visit Q&A
QUESTION: It will take about time to travel from the meeting room to the tour location. Does that time count against our 7 hour quota (6 hours for presentations, 1 hour for tour)?
ANSWER: Yes, travel time counts against the 7 hour quota. However you may count it against the presentation time (finish early and travel) or against the tour time (tour proper lasts less than 1 hour).
