SMEX Communication 006 (6 March 2001)
I am thrilled to announce that the six month, competitive SMEX Phase A will begin May 1, 2001.
- A kickoff meeting will be held in the Washington, DC, area during the week of April 30 - May 4. I will inform you of the date and place as soon as we arrange for a venue, probably within a week or so. The purpose of the kickoff meeting is (i) to give you the guidelines for the competitive Phase A; (ii) to update you on changes in requirements, constraints, costs, schedule, etc., for SMEX missions; (iii) to begin/continue the process of getting your Phase A contract in place; (iv) to answer any and all questions.
- Phase A concept study reports will probably be due on November 2; I will finalize the due date at the kickoff meeting.
- Prior to the kickoff meeting, the documents in the SMEX Explorer Program Library will be updated and finalized for the competitive Phase A.
- All announcements and answers will continue to be archived on the SMEX Downselect Page.
