SMEX Communication 002 (22 October 2000)

1. As promised, I have placed links to DRAFT versions of the SMEX Concept Study Guidelines and the SMEX Safety, Reliability, and Quality Assurance Requirements on the SMEX downselect page at http://spacescience.nasa.gov/codesr/smex/.

2. As I have told those of you who will require LOA's to work with your international partners during Phase A, NASA will have those LOA's in place before Phase A starts next year. Practically speaking, that means we will work on them next summer. Don't forget to provide me with the information that was requested in your selection letter, but there is no immediate deadline for that information. In the meantime, you are responsible for obeying applicable laws and regulations if you interact with your potential international partners before Phase A begins. 3. I will, on irregular occasions, send additional communications to you between now and next summer.
