Change in Launch Date Requirements

The expected MIDEX downselect date, and thus the beginning of Phase B for the selected missions, has been delayed from the December 2002 date in the MIDEX AO to the currently planned March 2003 date.

Therefore the launch date requirement is also being slipped by 3 months, from March 2008 to June 2008. The launch date which is proposed in the Concept Study Report must be no later than June 30, 2008.

Any earlier launch date may still be proposed. In particular a launch date of March 2007 or earlier, even one in 2006, may be proposed. You are not required to propose a launch date of June 2007 or June 2008. You are encouraged to propose the launch date that minimizes your risk including cost risk.
